In our six week Autumn salon series, we will trace the ways nature has inspired composers, philosophers and artists and discover how throughout the centuries, music has sought to be a mirror of the world around. This fall, our series is intimately tied to some of the most exciting performances at the Green Music Center, offering an in-depth, insightful exploration of music to be performed by the Santa Rosa Symphony, including Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 in F Major, " Pastoral ", Brahms's Symphony No. 2 , Richard Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra, Haydn's Symphony No. 39 in g minor, Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring as well as songs by Handel, Schubert, Mendelssohn and more and a visual exploration of how nature has been depicted throughout the centuries from Thomas Cole's Civilization series to the Land Art of Andy Goldsworthy,
