The Heroine's Quest: Queens of Heaven and Earth Isis, Inanna and the Virgin Mary
Sunday, August 28 from 10 am - 4 pm SOLD OUT
A cross-cultural look at the stories of three of the most powerful images of the Divine Feminine throughout history: Isis, Egyptian goddess of life and death, legendary originator of Alchemy and Inanna, ancient Summerian goddess of grain and civilization, whose harrowing story of descent into the underworld is a potent symbol for the call for depth in the second half of life. We will conclude with the Virgin Mary, revered in both Christianity and Islam as the most virtuous and holy of women, whose European shrines are built on top of sanctuaries dedicated to these earlier goddesses.
Our day will weave together art and story with time for personal reflection. After a magnificent lunch buffet in the garden, we'll deepen our understanding of the myths through prompted journaling and small group sharing. We conclude with a private outdoor labyrinth walk set amongst an oak grove with sweeping views of the hills of Sonoma.
